ABOUT

Jonx Pillemer is a photographer, based in Cape Town, South Africa. He specialises in documentary, reportage, event and portraiture work. 

He has over 12 years of experience covering a multitude of settings, and a client list that has allowed him to travel much of Africa where he has spent time in small rural clinics and homes, covering some of the medical and developmental issues that impact the continent.

He has both documented and managed photography teams within different eventing environments, from Design Indaba, to Mercedes Benz’s Fashion Week and Rocking the Daisies as well documenting in intimate studio spaces with artists such as Barend de Wet and James Webb, and musicians, Shane Cooper and Kesivan Naidoo, amongst many others.

His ability to remain unobtrusive, combined with his ability to interpose a subject in an image in a manner which straddles documentary and intersubjectivity, allows him to seamlessly move with ease in any environment to convey a narrative through a collection of photographic essays.
